Is there a demo version of Move?

Yes. You can request a demo version from the Demo Software Request page.

Follow the installation instructions in the Documentation.

Why is Move running slowly?

The Max Cache setting in the Move dialog box might be set too low for the image that you are trying to use. Increase the Max Cache setting to at least the memory required, as displayed in the Layer list in the Select Image File dialog box (Windows) or Move dialog box (Mac OS).

Why does the image appear squished or look like it's at 16:9 aspect?

Move doesn’t directly support 16:9 aspect in preview mode. As a workaround, deselect the Gang option in the Effect Editor and set the Scale X value to about twice as large as the Scale Y value.

Why does Move cause a fatal error on my Avid® Media Composer® v10.0 system?

The problem is caused by a bug in v10.0 of the Avid editing software. It’s been fixed in v10.1. Check with your Avid reseller to obtain this upgrade.

In the mean time, you can set an environment variable that to disable the Move feature that is causing a conflict with the Avid software. Set a user environment variable called PEIMOVE_NO_OVERLAY with a value of 1. This will disable the overlay feature of Move, but you will still be able to access the features using the effect window controls.
